The Burmese equated white alabaster with the purity of Buddha. He is beautifully depicted here on a simple lotus base, gently leaning forwards with a small smile lacing his lips. He sits in a lotus crossed-legged posture, right hand displaying the bhumisparsa mudra of enlightenment, and left hand folded on his lap in the dhyana mudra of meditation.
