Impressive in size, this prestigious shrine house is a glorious representation of ancient Chinese craftsmanship, where expert joints and delicate carvings are proudly showcased. The two dragon heads along the upper eaves and the multiple layered overhanging roof gables strongly suggests that this shrine house belonged to a high-ranking Official's family; in ancient China, dragons were sacred symbols that could only be used if certain statuses were bestowed upon.
Hanging like miniature lanterns down the front are lotus flowers, a distinct symbol of Buddhism, suggesting this shrine was where Buddhist statues were honored.
