Wu Cai Shen (武财神), the majestic God of Wealth, is depicted here dynamically seated on his lion vehicle. Worshipped in Chinese folk religion and Taoism, he is dressed in traditional Ming-dynasty (1368 AD – 1644 AD) general armor, and gazes out with a determined look on his face. With his strong arms he raises up a dragon, showcasing his strength and power. Staggered layers of gold cover his body, signifying the owner's devotion to him. The small niche in the back would have held precious scriptures or materials meant to imbue the statue with blessings.
