Weaving neatly through arching vines, a pair of elegant goats gracefully meander through a sprawling plant grove. Separated by a large central flower blossom, the goats are depicted with long horns and lithe limbs that are carved thin and delicately poised. Goats are one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Lunar calendar. They are cherished motifs well-loved by the Chinese, as the word for goat (yang, 羊) sounds similar to the word for yang (阳), the positive male-principle in nature.
