Handsomely wielding his iconic sword attribute, the Tibetan deity Virudhaka is proudly presented here, dressed in armor and regally seated on an ornate throne. Virudhaka is one of the four heavenly kings of Tibetan Buddhism, believed to watch over the four cardinal directions. Considered sacred protectors of the realm, they are also known as the Chaturmaharaja in Sanskrit. He is also one of the Twenty-Four dharmapalas who manifests to protect the Dharma (Buddhism teachings).
