Painted on Wood.
Mineral Pigments, Vegetal Dyes and Gesso
Folding tables are also known as travelling tables. Stout legs specially carved to resemble thick bamboo gives this treasured folding table a wonderfully robust silhouette. A stylized longevity character graces the front and sides, encompassed by sprouting vines lined in gesso that imparts delicate texture to the surface. Hints of green pigments brings freshness to the neutral wood background. When set up, this table would have most often been used as a surface meant for offering items or reading sacred texts known as pecha.
