A powerful dragon looms large in the centre of this wonderful trunk, each four-talon claw clutching a jewel orb tightly. Contrasting with the brilliant orangish red background, the dragon’s golden body coils amidst a flourishing lotus grove. Numerous longevity symbols, also known as "shou" characters, bedeck the surface in precious gold, further enriching the surface. Arrow-headed brackets serve not only as decoration, but further strengthen the joints. The diamond-shaped metal latch is a lovely example of Tibetan blacksmithing.
